Centre opens.
All children group together in the Pipis room. This part of the day is called “family grouping” the children often enjoy this part of the day as they are provided with opportunities to interact with children of all ages. The older children often like to help with the babies and the younger children enjoy playing with the “big kids”. Children that arrive before 8:00am are offered breakfast.
8:00 – 9:00am
Children begin to move into their own rooms as the educators from their rooms arrive.
Indoor/Outdoor play occurs. Weather permitting, children are able to explore with indoor and outdoor play where they can freely choose what they would like to explore.
9:00 – 10:00am
Progressive morning tea is served.
Children are able to come and sit to eat when they have finished playing and are feeling hungry.
10:00 – 11:30am
Indoor or outdoor play in children’s own rooms continues.
11:30 – 12:30pm
Group time and lunch time.
Children are encouraged to assist with room pack up and set up ready for lunch and rest time. Group activities suitable to the children in the group such as singing, dancing, reading stories and “show and tell” take place before children are encouraged to wash their hands and sit down for lunch.
12:30 – 2:30pm
Children are offered a sleep or rest time as appropriate.
Children who are going to sleep are encouraged to have a short play before going to bed to help their food settle in their tummy. Children are welcome to have comfort items from home such as a special teddy, blanket or dummy. As children wake they are encouraged to dress themselves and then to engage with experiences in the room.
2:30 – 3:00pm

Children are able to come and sit to eat when they have finished playing and are feeling hungry.
3:00 – 5:00pm
Indoor or outdoor play in children’s own rooms continues.
5:00 – 6:30pm
All children group together in the Starfish Room for family grouping.
At around 5:15pm a late snack is served.
6:30pm
Centre closes.
